A perfect out of city stopover on our road trip.
A stunning property with beautiful, clean and comfortable rooms. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Safe, secure and dog friendly.
On the occasion we visited, there was no restaurant service and no other suitable facilities nearby. This was disappointing after a long journey. However, the staff kindly organised something for us. They were exceptional.

Beautiful property with historic hacienda but poor amenities.
Finca San Javiar is a gorgeous property next to a small town. The accommodation was good. A huge room with separate seating area and two small balconies. The king bed was very comfortable. The gardens are very beautiful and a lovely place to wander around. The Finca is a short drive to El Arenal and tequila and a good choice if you want a unique experience.
The receptionist on the afternoon of our arrival was very curt and made no effort to communicate with us in our basic Spanish but just rattled on under her mask like we were fluent. We had problems with the fact we were there mid week. First of all no Ice! I have never stayed in a hotel that had no ice. So my husband had to go to a small shop and buy a huge bag of ice which we put in a bucket. The other problem was they had told us there was no dinner served on weekdays but we would have a continental breakfast. We waited till 9:30 for breakfast with no means of making coffee and they served horrid weak instant coffee. Other than that it was fruit, yogurt and cookies. For a hotel that costs $150.00 night it was very poor. This property because it is so beautiful mainly does events like weddings on weekends so midweek is just extra gravy.
