Rustic cabin with a nice balcony.
Matress is very old and uncomfortable. The whole kitchen looks like they stored old stuff that they don't need anymore. Not even a lighter for the stove was prepared. (No problem for smokers). Fridge was very loud. The view was over plastic greenhouses and cut down trees. Noise from road was traveling over the valley. To get there you must travel over 3km of windy dusty road. When we arrived at 6pm the gate was locked and we had to call the owner to be let in. We would not come again.

Exceptional
Lovely family-run ecolodge. Out of the touristic zone and the city you can find this gem. Definitely our best stay in Costa Rica and we could truly relax in silence here. Gilbert was a really nice host and even made us dinner and put on a fire at night. The rooms are simple yet very clean and tidy. Shared kitchen and chill zone outside. Bring your 4x4 and your binoculars here.

Great potential, but could not live up to our expectations.
The view is great. There is a lot of potential in the place.
Our experience was one of mixed feelings. The place has a lot of potential and undeniably stunning views. The reception by one of the staff was average, the hot shower was not working on the morning and we were promised a coffee in the morning, though found nobody present between 7 and 8 am. We had to leave the place at 8:15 without seeing anyone. Luckily for them we paid the day before. The rooms were ok, though the bed was uncomfortable. We expected a bit more value for our money.
