    Exceptional

    Modern and tidy.

Little bit loud if room is located on main road.

    Not what you’d expect.

Good location, nice sea view and balcony. Decent facilities.

Not as nice as it seems on the pictures, very worn-out. Our balcony door wouldn’t lock and as all balconies are connected it would have been quite easy to break into our room. It’s right next to the boulevard which is not only a busy road but also there’s music and many people there at night. Staff didn’t seem to really care about us or our stay. Altogether it was fine, just not as nice as you’d expect from the pictures. Not sure if it’s worth the price.

    Faded glory.

The hotel is an old classic right on Olas Altas beach in Mazatlán. I was received badly there in 2017 but decided to go back because of the location and price. This time, we did get the ocean view room we reserved and the view was marvellous. The room itself is rather plain but passable.

It's rather sad to see how property owners try to squeeze the last few drops of juice again and again out of the same old lemons that once were classic places on a classy beach. Not a single drop of paint or varnish seems to have been spent since I arrived here for the first time three decades ago. Many once-famous places on this stretch of the beach have now disappeared or are moribund. The worst point is that nowadays, vacationing in Mazatlan basically consists in renting a pick-up or a convertible taxi and driving along the Malecón with booze and booming norteño music, which means that the only option you have to enjoy your ocean-view room is to sit on the balcony with booze (music provided by the passing cars) to see the scenery, until the noise dies down in the early hours. Sleeping is not really an option.
