Excellent hotel with class and style.
Le Citadelle is an excellent hotel with class, style and elegance in a pretty, central location that is quiet - a park sitting in front of it. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, staff is most pleasant and helpfull, the restaurant is beautiful, and the breakfast was very good, offering ample choices. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and will certainly return on another occasion. Metz town center is at walking distance.

It's the details. ..
Nice big room. Bed was comfy. Bathroom was big and pleasant with good lighting. Location was decent. Parking was convenient. Nice view of park from the window. Glad that it had a refrigerator.
Bathtub/shower was attractive but scary, hard to get into due to height and with center pop-up drain being a tripping hazard. Lighting in the room was terrible - the bedside lamp shined in my eyes, the bedside spotlight flopped all over the place, and I couldn't figure out how to use the floor lamp (no apparent lamp switch or wall switch). Not sure why the feature wall was mud brown - it made an already-dark room darker. And when we arrived hungry at 2 pm, the hotel restaurant was no longer serving any food, and we couldn't even book dinner as it was already full. We had to walk 10-15 minutes to the nearest open restaurant. Frustrating.
