When we arrived it was like a mini tropical paradise.
Great eggs and view of hummingbirds from balcony.

Very convenient for airport, peaceful and comfortable.
Did not have breakfast.
Restaurant times were restricted, I felt I was hurried over my lunch due to the restaurant times and the meal poor.

Visiting only for being able to experience Sumidero Canyon.
Hotel room was clean and we found it comfortable for this price range of hotel room. Hotel also located conviniently close to the boat harbour where tours to Sumidero Canoyon started.
We have travelled from Finland to visit different points of interests in Mexico. Only reason for us (most likely for majority of guests) visiting Hotel La Ceiba was to experience Sumidero Canoyn from river by boat and from the view point up in the mountain. When booked the hotel room quite some months ago asked about the Sumidero Canyon tours. Hotel personnel replied there is no need priorly to book the tours. When arriveded to the hotel asked from very friendly female receptionist about Sumidero Canyon trip with boat and up in the mountain view point (miradero) trip for the next day. We used online translator so language barrier wasnt present. She told us boat trip and visit to view point in mountainwould take ca 4 hrs together and we just should come 10 am next morning to the reception. When arrived 9:50 am to reception we found out there wasnt driver/car available for taking us to boat tour. The male receptionist adviced us going into local collective bus, but no view point visit up to the mountain was included in this case. We went to the boat trip and enjoyed visiting beautiful Sumidero Canyon. Once returned back to the hotel we wanted to book from the male receptionist the separate tour the view point up in the mountains, but according to him it would take even for 4 hours. We had only one night stay in the hotel and had to be by 5 pm elsewhere. We fully understand Mexico doesnt run and schedule like Swiss clock, but tours visiting guests want to book, pay and attend, should be arranged very differently we experienced in Hotel La Ceiba today.

Such a pleasant stay.
We were pleased to be greeted by such beautiful gardens and friendly staff! The front desk staff were very informative about the area, transportation and prices of taxis, admissions to activities, etc. They even stored some perishable items in the fridge for us. Rooms are clean, quiet, and comfy. Late checkout is available for a small fee, which I recommend if you are going to the Canyon on the same day.
