Copamarina Beach Resort & Spa

A stunning resort situated right on the beach. Beautifully maintained grounds, great facilities and - above all- fantastic staff who really made us feel welcome. After a day or two it started to feel like home and we didn't want to leave. Honestly I cannot flaw the service we received. Everyone was so helpful and friendly.

It's quite pricey at the resort and your options are limited as there isn't much in the surrounding areas. I'd recommend driving or renting a car to give you more mobility outside of the resort.

Not enough latin -creolle food. High price for food. lots of bugs. More variety in food. Music entertainment needed.

The entire staff are quite lovely and friendly.

The restaurant's menu and their prices are too high and not worth paying for small portions and food that are not tasty.

But gotta be honest, the food wasn't great. They have two restaurants, but it's too pricey and not tasty. Christmas dinner was a total letdown. I told the staff about the food every time, but no one offered to switch it or even said sorry. It felt weird complaining to the friendly waiters, but the food was just not good. On the bright side, the place, the view, and the things to do are really cool. I'd still say check it out, but bring your own snacks because the only other place nearby is a Burger King, and surprisingly, it's better than the hotel food!

- Awesome grounds with good pools, jacuzzis, own beach and the option to easily rent out kayaks and little catamarans. You can take the kayak to the little island for some great snorkelling in the magroves and around the island. - The staff is all really friendly and helpful and one of the girls gave us a really great recommendation for a hacienda, after we were struggling to find one that was open. - Restaurant is very allergy-friendly. - Good location for south and west coast and central mountains!

- Even though we had booked through booking. com with a fixed price, there was lot of trouble with our rate and payment when we got there (it was payment on site). They tried to take a way higher rate and it was very confusing to clear this up. We arrived in the evening so we could only clear this up the next day, which was really stressful. We ended up paying 100 dollars more than agreed on Booking. com, but it was better than the 500 they initially wanted. .. - The rooms looks more like a cheap motel than a rather expensive hotel and the AC was old and loud and most of the settings weren't usable. - There is extra charges for breakfast. Breakfast is a la carte and if you have a rate with breakfast included, you get a budget per day. If you want something to eat and drink, you might go at least slightly over it. Taxes and expected tips are also not included, which we Europeans found extremely absurd, as we'd already payed a lot of money. - Some of the servers at breakfast were really not that good and food sometimes to took extremely long, which really messed with our plans. Two out of four morning we waited an hour (for french and avocado toast, nothing crazy). - There is also a lot of birds in the breakfast area (because people were feeding them) that were quite aggressive and just sit down on your water glass or plate if you don't pay attention. - The bed was nice and big but the mattress a bit too hard. - There was a lot of construction noise in the reception area and one morning also at breakfast. - The drains in the bathroom were sometimes very smelly.
