Great novelty hotel but overpriced and needs more attention to detail to be 5 star.
The barrel rooms are great & spacious, comfortable bed, large bathroom and lots of storage. Plus it’s a novelty! The on-site tequila tour is fantastic and Joel was a brilliant guide. The cave restaurant is great, wonderful live music and the food is good. Breakfast also great. Free tequila whenever you want it too!
For a five star hotel there is no phone in the rooms, no hairdryer and no iron. The perimeter of the property has no fence so you can see the industrial area around the hotel. The grounds are nice but could be looked after better. The location is far from town - fair enough as they need a lot of space - but transport was non-existent, taxis didn’t show up and Uber doesn’t work. We also accidentally broke a mug in the room and were charged nearly £13 for it which is ridiculous. I don’t mind paying for breakages - although 5 star hotels rarely do charge and certainly not at this price for a £2 cup. Overall, this place is good but needs work to be a proper 5 star, especially at the price they are charging.

The location is very nice, close to the city, but in a silent and green area. The "barrel" is not very big, but has all needed for a comfortable stay.
We would love to have option of outside barbeque. It was a bit humid in the barrel, so we had to run air-conditioner all the time, but may be it is seasonal.
