Terrific value apartments in the centre of Paris.
For sheer value for money, these apartments are hard to beat. The location is perfect, close to bus and metro stations, a 1 min walk to rue de Rivoli, and close to Notre Dame cathédrale, the Louvre and more. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the apartments have all you could need. When we come back to Paris, as we often do, we'll aim to stay here again.
Unfortunately, as is the way with many reception free listings these days entry to the building and then to your floor and finally to your apartment requires 3 or 4 separate keypad codes. Our inital apartmebt - number 28 - had an old style key pad on it and the code didn't work, I think it actually was the lock itself that didn't work, but we arrived at 7.45pm, schlepped our bags up several flights of stairs and then spent over an hour trying to enter the apartment all the while on the phone to the helpline. We were asked to provide video of us using the keypad, try numerous other codes, none of which worked. Ultimately we were offered another apartment - number 25 - and this had a new style lock on and we got in there once we were given the correct code. A big shout out to Alison at the helpdesk - she was trying so hard to help us all that time and as she was not on site she could only work through the options no doubt her manual gave her. She kept on trying to help and ultimately she offered us the new room. She put up with a very frustrated me on the phone for around an hour and a quarter! My only other small gripe is the instructions on the entry code system could be updated - there is a code given for a second inner door but no pad for it. Ultimately we felt trapped between doors until my wife gave the inner doors a hefty shoulder barge and they opened. This was clearly the new method but it felt very wrong in such a beautiful old building.
