Value for money is far off.
Great hotel overall, but not for the money I paid. rooms are comfortable and nice. overall facilities not up to the standard for what I paid. food was excellent. the animals around give a great atmosphere.
coordination and administration was chaotic. staff in Olio restaurant are very untrained and got many orders wrong. The lighting system is not working properly.

It is not a place for overseas travellers. It is fine for a weekend off Dubai.
The staff is lovely. Food is decent.
This is not a 5 Stars hotel, the place is both overpriced and overrated. The beach is not a great deal, it is almost unswimmable. The island itself is a big disappointment: largerly overrated. Safari is underwhelming, it does not make any sense to spend money for it.

Not what one would expect from ANANTARA, compared to their Asian locations !
The island is nice, and the location is good. The original architecture is beautiful and fits with the environment. Most of the staff is making great efforts to provide the best service. Some of the activities on the island are very exciting.
The infrastructure starts to show signs of wear and tear. The level of service is not what one would expect from an ANANTARA. The quality of the food was mediocre. Half of the island is under construction and you can watch the trucks and the bulldozers from the "serenity" of your expensively paid veranda - even on Christmas day !!!
